An early look at a Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse action figure gives fans a glimpse of the film’s terrifying cybernetic Spider-Woman.
Twitter user @preterniadotcom shared an image of the “Cyborg Spider-Woman” action figure on July 31. The hulking Hasbro toy is adorned with a plethora of Liefeldian patches, as well as various bits of armor and chains which form the iconic Spider symbol on her chest. This Spider-Woman also features a massive rotating cannon in place of a right arm.

The “Cyborg Spider-Woman” is the latest in a long line of characters from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse who have been quietly confirmed thanks to associated merchandise. Comic book fan-favorite Hobe Brown, aka Spider-Punk, was confirmed thanks to a toy guitar and mask sporting his likeness. Other Hasbro figures from the film’s merchandise line have given fans an early look at the updated costumes for other Spider-Verse staples including Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.
The upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the beginning of a two-part sequel to the 2018 animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse starring Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jake Johnson. Producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord have previously opened up about the size and scale of the film, the latter stated that “The sequel is way, way bigger than the last one. It’s the largest crew of an animated movie ever.”
Miller also clarified concerns regarding the film’s seemingly endless number of Spiders. “Amidst the universe-hopping, there are 240 unique characters… but they’re mostly minor or background characters,” he explained. Miller went on to reassure fans that, despite the endless possibilities of the eponymous Spider-Verse, “The story is personal [and] centers on Miles and his family, along [with] Gwen and a handful of others.”
The upcoming film will see returning heroes Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy team up with a slew of new and returning allies from across the Multiverse to take on the threat of The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman. Co-director Kemp Powers remarked on the film’s choice of villain as well as The Spot’s story throughout. “The Spot, from the very beginning, he just seemed like endless potential — both visually and the arc of the character.” He added, “And the arc of Doctor Ohnn/The Spot does really complement, without giving away the story, the journey of Miles [Morales] in this film really well.”
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into cinemas on June 2, 2023.
