A new leak seemingly confirms the rumored technical specifications of the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 3. OnePlus started as the “flagship killer” and quickly became one of the leading players in the Android space with its phones that offered impressive specs at comparatively affordable prices. However, the company has been increasing the prices of its flagship smartphones in recent years and pushing them out of reach of some of its fanbase. To alleviate this problem, the company introduced a new ‘Nord’ sub-brand a few years ago to offer more affordable alternatives to its increasingly expensive flagships.
OnePlus has already launched a slew of excellent, budget-friendly entry-level and mid-range smartphones under the Nord sub-brand globally, and the next product in the pipeline is the Nord CE 3. Information about the device has leaked multiple times in recent weeks, and the latest report by Indian tech blog 91Mobiles seems to confirm its rumored tech specs. The report says the device will feature a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ (2400 X 1080) resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 support. The smartphone will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC seen in the Nord CE 2 Lite last year.
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Rumored Specifications
The Nord CE 3 is also tipped to come with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB storage, while the battery is expected to be a 5,000mAh unit with 67W fast charging support. The phone will likely have a triple-camera system led by a 108MP snapper and joined by a 2MP macro camera and a depth sensor. Up front is a 16MP camera to cover any selfie and video-calling needs.
Connectivity options on the upcoming device include a 3.5mm audio jack and a Type-C charging port. It is also expected to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the software side, the smartphone is said to run Android 13 with OnePlus’ proprietary Oxygen OS on top. There’s no information about the phone’s price, launch date, or availability for now, but some details will likely be revealed before the device’s official launch.
Another massive leak earlier this month revealed live images of the OnePlus Nord CE 3, showcasing its design. The images showed the volume rocker above the SIM tray on the left side and the power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner on the right. There’s also a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker at the bottom. The live images also suggest that the Nord CE 3 will have a centralized punch-hole cutout in the front to house the selfie camera. Overall, the Nord CE 3 will likely be a standard nondescript mid-ranger, with its success hinging on pricing.
