One Marvel Fan “Proves” Thunderbolts Answers a 7 Year Old MCU Mystery

Marvel Studios released the trailer for Thunderbolts*, and some fans have noted that the movie looks to be answering a seven-year-old Marvel question. In 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, it was revealed that Tony Stark had sold Avengers Tower since the team was operating out of their new upstate facility introduced at the end of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Since Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans have speculated who bought Avengers Towers, particularly after it was teased in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Fan speculation ranged from the Kingpin to the MCU Norman Osborn, and even the new Baxter Building for Marvel’s first family before Fantastic Four: First Steps was confirmed as being set in another universe.

X user BJET points out that the Thunderbolts* trailers seem to confirm that audiences will see Avengers Tower. It includes the team confronting Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in the tower with the skyline being the same southeast view from the MetLife Building, where the Avengers Tower, formerly Stark Tower, originally stood. The reveal of Thunderbolts* featuring the former superhero building was previously reported by audiences in attendance at Marvel’s Hall H panel at 2024’s San Diego Comic-Con, as we outlined previously here. With the footage now available to everyone, more audiences can verify the information. See BJET’s original post below:
